KPK examines Ridwan Kamil's brother over Volvo purchase

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned Erwin Muniruzaman, the brother of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, regarding the purchase of a Volvo XC90 vehicle in 2023. Investigators are examining Muniruzaman’s knowledge of the purchase, as the timing of the acquisition coincides with an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption involving advertising procurement at Bank BJB between 2021 and 2023.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators are also looking into the sale of the vehicle, which Muniruzaman allegedly sold in August 2024. The agency is determining if the sale occurred after the Bank BJB corruption probe had already commenced.

Furthermore, the KPK is investigating the origins of various assets belonging to Ridwan Kamil that may not have been disclosed in his State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN). Investigators are working to clarify why these assets were omitted and to trace the sources of the funds used to acquire them.
