KPK expands investigation into former Madiun Mayor Maidi
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has expanded its investigation into former Madiun Mayor Maidi, focusing on alleged corruption and money laundering. In recent raids across Madiun, investigators seized documents, electronic evidence, and cash from several locations, including the City Health Office (Dinkes PPKB) and the regional water utility, Perumda Air Minum Tirta Taman Sari.
Additional searches were conducted at the residence of the Head of the Trade Office, Harum Kusumawati. These actions are part of an ongoing investigation into the flow of funds and assets potentially linked to illegal gratifications and project fees. While Maidi has already faced sentencing demands of 7 years and 2 months in prison for his primary corruption case, the KPK is currently utilizing a separate investigation order to trace suspected money laundering activities.
The investigation remains in the general inquiry stage, and while investigators are actively collecting evidence to complete the case file, no new suspects have been officially named in the money laundering probe as of late September 2026.
