KPK detains eight suspects in Bogor land-use bribery case
The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained eight suspects in a bribery case involving the management of building rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency, West Java. Among those detained is Adrianto Pitojo Adhi, the President Director of property developer PT Summarecon Agung Tbk.
Investigators seized approximately 106.3 billion rupiah in cash and electronic evidence during the operation. The KPK is currently investigating the flow of funds to determine if PT Summarecon Agung Tbk should be named a corporate suspect, as they are looking for evidence of company funds being used or the corporation receiving direct benefits.
The KPK noted that four of the eight suspects are allegedly close associates of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Nusron Wahid. While the Minister has not been summoned, investigators stated that any decision to call him would depend on the needs of the ongoing probe.
One of the suspects, Fahd El Fouz, is a Golkar Party official who has been involved in two previous corruption cases. PT Summarecon Agung Tbk has stated it respects the legal process and is prepared to cooperate with authorities.
