KPK probes alleged corruption in Bengkulu city waste management

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened an investigation into suspected corruption involving the management of health waste in Bengkulu city. The inquiry expands a previous case that began in Rejang Lebong Regency, where a hand‑to‑hand operation captured 13 suspects and identified five individuals allegedly involved in bribery for public‑works projects.

KPK investigators searched several locations in Bengkulu, including the office and residence of a private medical‑equipment firm and the home of the city’s Head of Public Works, Noprisman. In the latter location they seized cash worth roughly Rp4 billion. The evidence is linked to the ongoing probe of corruption among officials and contractors linked to waste‑management contracts. No new suspects have been formally named, and KPK said it will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
