Indonesia's KPK raids homes of Bengkulu DPRD secretary and Tegal resident in corruption investigations

On August 7, 2026, Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a four‑hour raid on the house of Syofyan Tosoni, the secretary of the Bengkulu City Regional Representative Council (DPRD). The operation began around 16:30 WIB and concluded after 20:00 WIB, during which KPK agents seized three suitcases containing documents and removed them in KPK‑marked vehicles. Police personnel secured the perimeter and limited public access throughout the raid.

In a separate operation the same day, KPK agents arrived at a residence in Tegal, Central Java, belonging to Eko Daryanto. The team, using three black vehicles, searched the house in connection with a corruption case under investigation in the neighboring Pemalang Regency. Local police provided armed security, and residents were allowed to observe from a distance but were prohibited from photographing or recording the proceedings. The Tegal raid was also reported as part of KPK’s broader anti‑corruption effort that earlier included a search of a house linked to a former official in Rejang Lebong.
