KPK raids Madiun government offices in corruption probe
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted raids at the Madiun City Trade Office and the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD) on October 1, 2026. The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering and gratification involving former Madiun Mayor Maidi.
Investigators seized various documents and electronic evidence believed to be linked to additional instances of gratification within the Madiun City Government. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the evidence will be analyzed to strengthen the legal construction of the case and to identify further parties who may be designated as suspects.
The investigation follows a previous sting operation that resulted in the naming of three suspects: Maidi, his associate Rochim Ruhdiyanto, and the Head of the PUPR Office, Thariq Megah. Allegations include extortion and the receipt of gratification related to road maintenance projects and other entities. Maidi has denied all allegations of extortion and bribery.
