KPK reschedules examination of Forestry Ministry special staffer

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is rescheduling the examination of Andi Saiful Haq, a special staff member to the Minister of Forestry, regarding an alleged bribery case in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau.

Mr. Haq failed to appear for a scheduled examination on August 21, 2026. KPK investigators stated they will consider the reasons for his absence; if the reasons are deemed valid under the Criminal Procedure Code, a new date will be set. If the absence is considered unjustified, the commission may pursue legal measures, including forced attendance.

The investigation stems from a sting operation conducted on June 29, 2026, involving alleged bribery related to official appointments and the processing of forest area release recommendations. The KPK has already named three suspects: Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby, Regional Secretary Zulkarnain, and PT Mitra Ideal Consultant Director Ardiles. Investigators are specifically looking into the correlation between recommendations made by the Regent and processes within the Ministry of Forestry.
