KPK searches homes in Madiun to investigate money laundering

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted searches at several locations in the Madiun region as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering. The searches targeted the residence of inactive Madiun Mayor Maidi, the home of a family member identified as HD, and the residence of a sub-district head (camat) within the Madiun City Government.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the raids aim to collect evidence and track assets suspected to be linked to corruption through a ‘follow the money’ approach. Investigators are specifically looking into the potential conversion or change in form of assets allegedly derived from criminal activities.

This investigation is an expansion of a previous case involving Maidi, which included allegations of extortion and gratification. While a new investigation order has been issued to pursue money laundering and gratification, the KPK has not yet named new suspects in this specific phase of the inquiry.
