Friuli launches Foramba project for Argentine youth and examines AI adoption in SMEs

The Foramba project, titled ‘Artigianato tra radici e futuro’, has launched in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The initiative brings six young Argentines of Friulian descent to the region to study local craftsmanship and explore professional opportunities. Supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the project is a collaboration between Ente Friuli nel Mondo, Confartigianato-Imprese Udine, and Civiform. From October 19 to October 30, participants will engage in theoretical and practical training, including visits to breweries, dairies, wineries, and manufacturing firms in sectors such as woodworking, mechanics, and construction.

Separately, Nomisma and UniCredit have presented research regarding the adoption of Artificial Intelligence among Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The findings highlight a potential competitive disadvantage for SMEs if they fail to keep pace with larger corporations. Discussions at the AI.DEA Forum in Varignana emphasized the need for financial institutions like UniCredit to facilitate innovation through support in cybersecurity, data protection, and ecosystem building to help SMEs bridge the technological gap.
