K‑pop Group Babymonster’s Debut Anniversary Celebrated in Kuala Lumpur by Wikimedia Malaysia

Babymonster Wikimedia Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Malay Wiktionary competition K‑pop fan event

On 4 April 2026, the Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia partnered with the Malaysian fanbase BabymonsterMY to mark the second debut anniversary of K‑pop girl group Babymonster. The event transformed Ben Gong’s Tea & Dessert at La Laport BBCC in Kuala Lumpur into a fan hub, featuring themed décor, album displays, rare merchandise and a commemorative cup‑sleeve.

A Wiktionary competition was added, where about 25 participants were guided by Wikimedia CUG Malaysia and IIUM Wikimedia Club members to contribute Korean nouns, verbs and adjectives to the Malay Wiktionary. The contest generated over 400 new Korean‑Malay entries, with top contributors receiving official Babymonster merchandise as prizes.
