Kürşad Zorlu conducts diplomatic meetings in Moldova
AK Party Vice Chairman and Head of Relations with Turkic States Kürşad Zorlu conducted a diplomatic visit to Moldova, meeting with high-level officials in Chisinau to discuss bilateral relations and regional stability.
During a meeting with President Maya Sandu, Zorlu emphasized the continuous development of Turkey-Moldova relations and pledged support for the economic, social, and cultural development of the Gagauzia region. Sandu expressed appreciation for Turkey’s growing global influence and affirmed that Moldova would respect the autonomous status of Gagauzia. Sandu also extended an invitation for the opening of a vocational high school built by Turkey, noting her anticipation of participating alongside President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Zorlu also met with Speaker of the Parliament Igor Grosu, where discussions focused on Turkey’s role in regional and global politics, including its mediation efforts in conflicts. Regarding trade, Zorlu noted that both nations have reached their $1 billion target and expressed a desire to establish new commercial objectives. The visit included discussions with Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Carolina Perebin, highlighting the importance of the strategic partnership document between the two countries.
