Kürşad Zorlu conducts diplomatic visits in Budapest
Kürşad Zorlu, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Relations with Turkic States, conducted official diplomatic and cultural visits in Budapest, Hungary. During meetings with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Budapest Representation, Zorlu described Hungary as the “gateway to the Turkic world in the West,” highlighting the potential for increased economic and commercial ties.
A major announcement was made regarding the upcoming COP31 Climate Summit, which will be hosted by Turkey. Zorlu revealed that a historic “Special Session for Turkic States” will be held in the main hall of the United Nations during the summit. Balazs Hendrich, Executive Director of the OTS Budapest Representation, noted that the Drought Combat Center established in Budapest is prepared to support the COP31 process.
Zorlu also met with Hungary’s Minister of Social Relations and Culture, Zoltan Tarr. During this meeting, Minister Tarr conveyed praise from Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar regarding Turkey’s role in recent diplomatic summits and extended an official invitation to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to visit Hungary for official talks. The discussions emphasized the importance of Turkey as a bridge between Europe and the Turkic world, as well as the preservation of historical Turkic heritage within Hungary.
