Kraft cheese returns to Rewe shelves in Germany

The classic Kraft cheese range has been reintroduced to German refrigerated shelves. French dairy conglomerate Lactalis is producing the cheese and, for now, supplies it exclusively to retailer Rewe. Four variants are available: Kraft Toast Slices Original, Kraft Burger Slices with Cheddar, Kraft Cheese Cream with Cheddar, and Kraft Snack Cubes Mild Gouda.

Lactalis plans to expand distribution to the discount chain Penny in October, but Rewe remains the sole outlet until then. The comeback follows the brand’s historic presence in the market, originally founded by James L. Kraft in 1903 and later merged into the Kraft Heinz Company.
