PUBG MOBILE and BGMI announce new Lite versions for optimized performance

Level Infinite and Krafton have announced the upcoming launch of PUBG MOBILE LIGHT and BGMI Lite, respectively. These new versions are designed to provide a high-performance battle royale experience optimized for lower-end and older mobile devices by reducing initial storage requirements.

PUBG MOBILE LIGHT is scheduled for a global launch in November. It features a download size of less than 1GB on Android and 2GB on iOS. Unlike the existing PUBG MOBILE Lite, this version maintains the full core experience, including the Erangel map and 100-player matches, while allowing players to download additional maps and modes on demand to save space. It shares the same ecosystem as the standard game, allowing players to use existing accounts, friend lists, and game data.

In India, Krafton has opened pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Lite on the Google Play Store for Android users. Expected to launch by the end of 2026, BGMI Lite aims to assist players with limited storage or weaker hardware. It will support cross-play with the original BGMI, allowing existing players to maintain their progress and squad up with players on the standard version.
