Kragujevac collects 70 units of blood in large summer drive

The Red Cross of Kragujevac and the Blood Bank of the University Clinical Centre organized a large summer blood‑donation campaign at the Hotel Kragujevac, with support from the city government. The event gathered about 70 units of blood, which can save up to three lives each, helping maintain stable supplies during the summer months when donations typically decline.

City officials highlighted the ongoing need for all blood types, noting shortages of rare groups, and praised the community response that included many young donors. The campaign is part of the 22nd annual summer initiative under the slogan “Humanity that lasts,” and the city recently received the “Most Humane City” award from the Serbian Red Cross for its continued humanitarian efforts.
