Kragujevac political standoff: Students and SNS supporters guard opposing banners
In Kragujevac, a continuous standoff is occurring along Bulevar kraljice Marije as students and supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) maintain 24-hour vigils to guard opposing political banners.
Students and citizens placed a banner on a pedestrian bridge reading ‘Students win,’ which was met by SNS supporters placing a ‘Serbia wins’ banner on a nearby sidewalk. Both groups have established rotating shifts to ensure their messages remain visible around the clock.
Local residents have expressed frustration over the constant noise, including music and car horns, which has disrupted sleep in the surrounding area. Meanwhile, the Kragujevac Police Administration has notified the media that they intend to photograph and film participants at various gatherings in the city through August 21.
