Kragujevac to host international handball tournament

Kragujevac will host the 13th edition of the ‘Trophy of Serbia 2026’ international handball tournament from August 22 to August 26, 2026. Organized by Handball Trophy Serbia in collaboration with the city of Kragujevac, SPD Radnički, and the Serbian Handball Federation, the event is expected to draw approximately 2,000 participants, including athletes, coaches, and sports professionals.

The tournament will feature 95 teams representing 11 European countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, France, and Serbia. Matches are scheduled to take place across six different courts throughout the city.

In addition to the sporting competitions, the event includes a variety of cultural and social programs. The opening ceremony on Sunday, August 23, will feature a parade of all 95 teams from Veliki Park to Vojvode Radomira Putnika Square, accompanied by performances, a concert, and fireworks. Other scheduled activities include a coaches' evening for professional exchange, a traditional coaches' match, and a closing ceremony with trophy presentations.
