Users can enter the 13-digit EAN code located under the barcode to identify the product's status within the national database, which is maintained and updated by manufacturers and the system operator.

Automated machines may reject packaging for several reasons, including the absence of the official Polish deposit system logo, foreign origin, or physical damage such as crushing or torn labels. Additionally, certain plastic containers, such as those for yogurt or milk, are not currently part of the deposit system.

Regarding the redemption process, the Ministry of Climate and Environment suggests that deposit vouchers should remain valid for at least one month. The Ministry has also announced intentions to standardize and extend voucher validity periods to ensure consistency across different retailers. Under current guidelines, vouchers issued by automated machines must be redeemable for cash or other monetary forms at the store or designated points, and retailers cannot mandate that the value be used solely for purchases.
