Krajské Monte Negro launches eco-friendly horse riding near Hrešná
A new agrotourism project, Krajské Monte Negro, has opened near Chata Hrešná in the Čierna hora mountains. Supported by a 55,000 euro grant from the Košice Self-Governing Region through the Terra Incognita program, the facility features modern infrastructure including a saddle room and horse shelters.
The eco-friendly site utilizes renewable energy and photovoltaics to maintain environmental harmony. The project offers various riding experiences, ranging from basic lessons in a circular arena for children as young as four to advanced two-hour treks toward Kráľova studňa. Visitors can observe three different horse breeds and traditional blacksmithing demonstrations.
Project organizer Tomáš Eichler noted that the attraction aims to combine nature, history, and traditional crafts to enrich the local tourism offerings near Košice. The riding season runs from May through the end of October.
