Krakatau Steel appoints Willgo Zainar as new President Director

PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk has announced a significant leadership reshuffle following an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) held on September 7, 2026. The company has appointed Willgo Zainar as the new President Director, replacing Muhammad Akbar Djohan.

Zainar, a Gerindra Party politician and former Independent Commissioner at Krakatau Steel, previously held leadership roles at PT PAL Indonesia. The restructuring also includes changes to the finance and risk management division, where Thomas Christian replaces Daniel Fitzgerald Liman as Director of Finance and Risk Management. Additionally, Didik Hariyanto has been appointed as an Independent Commissioner.

The company stated that these changes are part of a strategic move to oversee Krakatau Steel’s transformation to ensure the state-owned enterprise becomes more resilient and sustainable.
