Krakow court awards compensation to Ryszard Linard-Bogucki

The District Court in Krakow has awarded Ryszard Linard-Bogucki over one million PLN in compensation and redress for temporary arrests in two separate legal proceedings. Linard-Bogucki, a former businessman, had initially sought 46 million PLN from the State Treasury, later increasing his claim to over 72 million PLN due to inflation and loss of assets.

The claims stemmed from two instances where he was eventually acquitted: a case in the early 1990s involving alleged misappropriation of vehicles, and a case between 2003 and 2012 regarding suspected incitement to the murder of General Marek Papała.

Linard-Bogucki previously served a 25-year prison sentence for the murder of Andrzej Kolikowski, known as "Pershing," a leader of the Pruszków gang. He was released from prison in January 2026. The court ruling regarding the compensation is not yet final.
