Krakow mayoral election scheduled for 27 September 2026

Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed a regulation publishing in the Dziennik Ustaw that orders an early election for the president (mayor) of Krakow on Sunday, 27 September 2026, with voting open from 07:00 to 21:00. The election follows the May 2024 referendum in which residents removed incumbent mayor Aleksander Miszalski from office. Candidates may submit their nomination papers by 16:00 on Thursday, 3 September, and the official campaign period runs until 25 September.

The announced field of candidates includes former head of the Supreme Audit Office Marian Banaś, Bartosz Bocheńczak (Confederation), Michał Drewnicki (Law and Justice), Jan Hoffman (referendum initiator), Michał Klimek (Confederation of the Polish Crown), Aleksandra Owca (Party Together), Monika Piątkowska (Civic Coalition/Polish People’s Party), Sławomir Pietrzyk (Social Democracy), Marta Ratuszyńska (Good Radom), celebrity Marianna Schreiber, Grażyna Zofia Świat (Independent Local Government of Lesser Poland), and former city councilor Łukasz Wantuch. The vote will be conducted under the standard electoral silence rules on the day before the poll.
