Krakow releases draft general plan for Grzegórzki district
A draft of Krakow's general plan has been released, outlining the future spatial policy for the Grzegórzki district. The document, prepared as of July 31, 2026, and made public on October 29, serves an informational purpose and has not yet entered formal public consultation.
The plan designates approximately 205.4 hectares for multi-functional zones with multi-family housing, 112.1 hectares for service zones, and 128.7 hectares for greenery and recreation. Additionally, 14.9 hectares are allocated for multi-functional zones with single-family housing, and 59.6 hectares for communication zones.
Key changes noted in the draft include higher building intensity near Mogilska street and a potential reduction in the required share of biologically active surfaces in the central part of the district. The plan's impact on resident quality of life will depend on building parameters, courtyard protection, park accessibility, and public infrastructure development.
