Kraków: Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś leads feast day celebrations

Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś presided over the feast day celebrations for Our Lady of Piasek in Kraków. During the ceremony at the Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Cardinal emphasized that faith begins through encounters with others rather than through theological treatises. He spoke on human dignity and the responsibility of believers to pass on their faith.

The event honored the historical significance of the site, noting that the image of Mary venerated in the Carmelite temple was the first Marian image in Kraków to be crowned with papal crowns in 1883. The Cardinal also highlighted the role of Mary in salvation history and the mission of the Church to bring Christ to others.
