Kraków election error case moves toward conditional dismissal

The investigation into a significant voting error in Kraków's electoral commission No. 95 is reaching a conclusion. Prosecutors have submitted motions for the conditional dismissal of proceedings against eight commission members.

The members face charges of dereliction of duty following a mistake during the second round of the 2025 presidential election. In the official protocol, votes were swapped: Karol Nawrocki was recorded with 1,132 votes, while Rafał Trzaskowski was recorded with 540. This contradicted the first round, where Trzaskowski had received 550 votes.

The commission members admitted to the error, attributing the mistake to fatigue. The prosecution noted that the individuals have expressed remorse and have no prior criminal records.
