Kraków emerges as a leading European startup and technology hub

Kraków is emerging as a major European hub for startups and technological innovation. According to the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026, the city is one of the fastest-growing startup centers globally, recording a 40 percent year-over-year increase.

In recognition of this growth, Kraków received the ‘Top European City Ecosystem for Startups’ award at the inaugural European Startup Ecosystem Awards during the Wolves Summit 2026. Experts attribute this success to a unique combination of human capital, strong academic foundations, a developed business services sector, and active collaboration between academia, business, and public administration.

The region is also shifting its economic focus toward high-value sectors such as artificial intelligence, engineering, and research and development. This transition moves the local economy away from simple operations toward complex technological projects and advanced business services.
