Kraków faces extreme heat and severe storm warnings

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a third-degree warning for extreme heat in Kraków, effective until 8:00 PM on August 1, 2026. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 31°C and 36°C, with a 90 percent probability of occurrence.

Additionally, a second-degree warning has been issued for severe storms. Forecasts indicate storms occurring from 5:00 PM today through 1:00 AM on August 2, 2026. These storms may bring heavy rainfall of 25 to 40 mm, wind gusts reaching 85 km/h—and locally up to 100 km/h—as well as potential hail.
