Kraków introduces Investor Service Office to streamline road investments
The Kraków Road Authority (ZDMK) has launched the Investor Service Office (BOI) to streamline road infrastructure investment processes. The new unit aims to implement a ‘single window’ system, acting as a central contact point for investors.
Previously, investors were required to independently coordinate with various municipal entities, such as the District Council, Public Transport Authority, and municipal waterworks, to obtain necessary opinions and guidelines. Under the new structure, the BOI will coordinate these requirements and provide investors with a single, integrated decision.
The reorganization includes the creation of a Deputy Director's Division for Investor Service, which oversees infrastructure agreements, greenery management, and developer contracts. While officials state the move will simplify complex procedures, local councilor Michał Starobrat has raised concerns via an inquiry regarding whether these new positions will lead to increased current expenditures for the ZDMK.
