Kraków mayoral candidates debate future of Nowa Huta

During a debate organized by the Wspólnota Wartości Association in Kraków, several candidates for mayor discussed the future of the Nowa Huta district. Participants included Michał Drewnicki, Sławomir Pietrzyk, Jan Hoffman, and Michał Klimek.

Michał Drewnicki emphasized his long-term connection to the area as a local councilor, while Sławomir Pietrzyk highlighted his decades of experience as a journalist and former city council vice-chairman. Jan Hoffman presented a specific economic vision for the district, proposing that the former industrial lands of the Kombinat be transformed into a hub for modern technologies, such as drone manufacturing, research, and testing facilities, rather than being used for warehouses or tourism-focused projects like a Disneyland.

Hoffman's plan focuses on creating high-paying jobs and leveraging synergies between local residents, universities, and investment sites through audits of infrastructure and environmental conditions.
