Kraków parking meters targeted by fraudulent QR code stickers

Fraudulent QR code stickers have been discovered on parking meters within the Paid Parking Zone in Kraków. These stickers were placed over information regarding the official mKraków application and redirect users to an unknown, unauthorized application.

The Kraków Road Authority (Zarząd Dróg Miasta Krakowa) has removed the fake stickers and reported the matter to the police. Officials warn citizens not to scan such codes or provide any personal information, particularly credit card details, through them. Individuals who have already scanned a fraudulent code and provided payment data are advised to contact their banks immediately.

To ensure security, payments should only be made via the parking meters themselves or through official applications downloaded directly from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
