Kraków to host Małopolska Voivodeship harvest festival for the first time
The Małopolska Voivodeship harvest festival, known as Dożynki, will be held in Kraków for the first time on September 6. The 28th edition of the event is scheduled to take place at the Polish Aviation Museum.
The program includes traditional ceremonies, a wreath competition, regional food, workshops, and agricultural machinery demonstrations. A new category, ‘Wieniec Publiczności’ (Audience Wreath), will allow attendees to vote on their favorite compositions. The event will feature a Polonaise performed by the Mystkowianie Regional Ensemble and a concert by the artist Cleo.
Regional Marshal Łukasz Smółka described the festival as a celebration of gratitude for the harvest and a way to honor the hard work of farmers and generational traditions. The festivities will begin at 10:00 AM with a field Mass celebrated by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś.
