Kraljevo veterans threaten blockade of Dino Merlin concert

War veterans, military invalids, and various associations held a protest in Kraljevo titled ‘Nećeš pevati’ (You Won’t Sing) to demand the cancellation of a concert by Bosnian singer Dino Merlin, scheduled for September 5 at the Sports Airport.

Protesters gathered at a monument dedicated to soldiers killed between 1991 and 1999. They cited alleged statements and actions by the singer during the wars in the former Yugoslavia as the basis for their opposition. Organizers stated that their movement is not directed against Bosniaks or Muslims, but specifically against the singer.

Representatives of the Association of War Disabled of the City of Kraljevo warned that if the concert is not canceled, they will proceed to block the venue and prevent the delivery of necessary concert equipment. The movement ‘Srce heroja’ has also called for support from its branches in Serbia and Montenegro.
