Kramatorsk couple marries in designated combat zone

In the city of Kramatorsk, which was recently designated as part of a combat zone, a Ukrainian couple, Tetiana and Oleksandr, held a wedding ceremony amidst the ongoing conflict. The ceremony took place on a public holiday marking 35 years since Ukraine's declaration of independence.

Kramatorsk, a regional industrial center in the Donetsk region, has seen significant changes due to the war. The city is now characterized by anti-drone netting, damaged buildings, and the presence of military fortifications such as ‘dragon’s teeth’ anti-tank obstacles. The groom described the wedding as an act of memory, noting the risk of the city being destroyed by the advancing front.

Recent reports indicate heavy shelling in the area, with six people reported killed during a period of 51 shelling incidents as the city faces increasing instability.
