Kranj Health Center opens new patronage and transport facilities

Zdravstveni dom Kranj has officially opened new leased premises at the Gorenjska Center on Bleiweisova cesta in Kranj. The 600-square-meter space is dedicated to its patronage service and its newly established non-emergency, sanitary, and dialysis transport service.

The transport service, which began operations last December, currently employs 24 people and utilizes eight vehicles, including four ambulances, three passenger vans, and one electric car. The service performs between 80 and 90 transports daily, totaling approximately 1,900 per month, primarily serving dialysis patients and those requiring specialist examinations or hospital discharges.

The expansion follows legislative changes requiring health centers to organize transport services internally. The patronage service, staffed by 27 nurses, also utilizes the new space to support home-based medical care.
