Krapina hosts 61st Week of Kajkavian Culture and Song Festival

The 61st Week of Kajkavian Culture is currently being held in Krapina, celebrating the Kajkavian dialect, traditions, and cultural heritage. The event features a diverse program including concerts, exhibitions, literary programs, and folklore performances.

As part of the festivities, students from Đurđevac Primary School participated in children's art exhibitions and a Kajkavian poetry recital. Award-winning students presented literary and visual works, with successful poems being included in a collection of the best children's Kajkavian creative works.

A central highlight is the 61st Festival of Kajkavian Songs, organized by the Society for Kajkavian Cultural Creativity Krapina and the City of Krapina. The festival includes a performance of 22 new compositions accompanied by a festival orchestra directed by Josip Hrastić and Antun Tomislav Šaban. The event aims to preserve the Kajkavian language by engaging various generations through musical and cultural expression.
