Krapinske Toplice police seize illegal electric scooters

Police from the Zabok station intercepted two minors, aged 15 and 16, operating electric scooters in Krapinske Toplice on the evening of October 8, 2026. The investigation revealed that the scooters' motor power exceeded the legal limit of 0.6 kW.

Under Croatian road safety laws, vehicles exceeding this power threshold are prohibited from participating in road traffic. As a result, the scooters have been temporarily seized pending a court decision, and criminal charges are being filed against the minors. The Croatian Social Welfare Institute has also been notified of the incident.

Authorities reminded the public that legal electric scooters must not have seats, must not exceed 0.6 kW in power, and must not exceed a speed of 25 km/h. Violations of these regulations carry a fine of 130 euros.
