Krasnoyarsk: One year after Ulotsev family disappearance
One year after Sergei and Irina Ulotsev and their five-year-old daughter, Arina, disappeared while hiking in the Krasnoyarsk region, no definitive evidence has been found to determine if they are alive or deceased.
Extensive searches covering caves and steep slopes have failed to provide proof that the family left the area voluntarily. The Investigative Committee has ruled out the theory of a voluntary departure, focusing primarily on the possibility of an accident while not entirely excluding criminal activity. Investigations have found no evidence of conflicts between the family members or with relatives and strangers.
Valentin Degterev, a friend of the family, has urged investigators to re-examine the search site. He claims to have identified an object resembling a mobile or satellite phone in forest photographs from the previous year. Although Degterev previously claimed to have received a voice message from Irina suggesting the family was starting a new life, this claim was refuted. Under Russian law, the case may be suspended if no new evidence emerges after one year.
