Kraton Jogja holds simplified Garebeg Mulud and Kondur Gangsa traditions

The Kraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat is holding the Kondur Gangsa tradition in observance of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday. The event features the distribution of offerings by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X to the public, centered around the Pagongan area and the courtyard of Masjid Gedhe Kauman.

This year's Garebeg Mulud ceremony follows a simplified format. Unlike previous years, the procession will not include the traditional gunungan (mountain-shaped offerings) being carried outside the palace, nor will there be a military parade. Instead, the Sultan's charity will be expressed through the distribution of ubarampe pareden to palace employees at Bangsal Srimanganti.

Authorities from Polresta Yogyakarta have announced traffic diversions to accommodate the crowds. From 18:00 to 22:00, traffic will be redirected around several key points, including Simpang Pangurakan, Simpang 4 Kauman, Titik Nol Kilometer, and Simpang 3 Wijilan, to ensure smooth movement during the festivities.
