Standard Liège and Racing Genk draw 1-1 in Jupiler Pro League clash

Standard Liège and Racing Genk played to a 1-1 draw at the Cegeka Arena. Standard took an early lead in the 27th minute when Noah Adedeji-Sternberg's corner resulted in a goal following a mistake by the goalkeeper, though the goal was described as somewhat clumsy.

Standard faced significant adversity when Matthieu Epolo received a red card for handling the ball in the penalty area, forcing the team to play with ten men. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Standard managed to secure a point in the second half when Andi Zeqiri scored with a header from an Ibe Hautekiet cross, marking a goal against his former club.

Racing Genk controlled much of the match and created several opportunities, including shots by Heymans that hit the post, but they were unable to capitalize on their dominance or the man advantage to secure a victory.
