Krefeld hosts contemporary dance festival and church dance event

Krefeld is hosting various dance-related cultural events, including the opening of the ‘Move’ contemporary dance festival and a specialized church dance event.

To kick off the ‘Move’ festival, Rafaële Giovanola, the designated 2027 German Dance Prize winner, performed ‘Momentum #2’ with her company Cocoon-Dance at the Südbahnhof. The performance featured three dancers moving to intensifying electronic music.

Additionally, the Alte Kirche Krefeld will host ‘Nachts tanzen die Räume’ on October 2, 2026. This event, titled DanceFlowSpirit, combines dance, music, and spirituality. The program includes a landscape installation made of 1,000 paper shells by choreographer Andreas Simon, free dance sessions led by Hanna Agurski, a Bach-inspired choreographic performance, and an ecstatic dance session to conclude the night.
