Krefeld Stadtbad Neusser Straße to open for Day of Open Monuments

The Stadtbad Neusser Straße in Krefeld will participate in the 2026 Day of Open Monuments on September 13. From 11:00 to 17:00, visitors can access the historical ground floor rooms, including the corridor and bath wing, without prior registration.

The site will host the ‘Deep Blue’ exhibition by the Krefeld artist group ‘artonauti:X’, which explores the building’s history and former function as a swimming pool. Additionally, the outdoor pool area will be open to the public, with refreshments provided by the association ‘freischwimmer’.

While the ground floor and outdoor areas are open to all, guided tours of the historical tub baths and the Kaiserbad require registration via the Volkshochschule website. Due to ongoing renovations funded by the federal government and the city of Krefeld, participants in these tours must wear provided safety helmets. The historic facility, which opened in 1890 and closed in 2003, is currently being revitalized for socio-cultural use, with future plans including a youth culture center and neighborhood hub.
