Kırşehir to host new defense industry R&D and testing center

Preparations have begun for the establishment of a Defense Industry Test and R&D Center in Kırşehir, Turkey. The facility, to be developed by the Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE), will focus on conducting critical tests for drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UCAVs).

Local officials, including Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek and AK Party Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan, met with MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş to discuss the implementation process. The project is expected to strengthen the region's role in the defense sector, boost local employment, and enhance the city's technological infrastructure and production capabilities.
