Kremlin aide urges US to end Ukraine aid to speed settlement

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the United States should cease all assistance to the Kyiv regime to facilitate a faster resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. Ushakov noted that while military and general aid has noticeably decreased under the Trump administration compared to previous presidencies, a formal roadmap for a settlement has not yet been seen by Moscow.

The comments follow a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump regarding potential steps toward a peaceful settlement and the development of bilateral relations. The discussion reportedly built upon recent visits to Moscow and Kyiv by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. Ushakov indicated that the leaders discussed the possibility of resuming contacts with the Ukrainian side, potentially through a trilateral negotiation format.
