Kremlin announces suspension of Russia-Ukraine peace talks
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has announced that peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are currently suspended. He stated that the topic is in a “deep pause” and that no new proposals or ideas have emerged to facilitate a settlement.
While direct peace talks are stalled, Peskov noted that Russia and the United States continue to maintain contacts at the working level regarding a potential settlement in Ukraine. However, there are currently no scheduled plans for a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
Regarding the conflict, Peskov asserted that Russia will continue its military operations while expressing a preference for a peaceful resolution if the opportunity arises. Additionally, the Kremlin warned it would use all available legal means to protect its interests against efforts by Western nations to utilize frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.
