Kremlin criticizes U.S. stance on economic deals amid Ukraine conflict

The Kremlin has expressed frustration over a diplomatic standoff with the United States regarding the timing of economic cooperation. Russian officials are seeking to initiate lucrative joint business projects, arguing that both nations are missing out on significant financial benefits by delaying these ventures.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that while Kirill Dmitriev, a special envoy for Vladimir Putin, continues to discuss economic issues with American authorities, Washington is maintaining a firm position. U.S. negotiators are refusing to move forward with major economic partnerships until the conflict in Ukraine is fully resolved.

Peskov noted that the Russian government regularly proposes ventures intended to bring “great benefits to both Russia and America,” but criticized the American requirement that a settlement in Ukraine must occur before any projects are implemented.
