Kremlin responds to reports of potential EU negotiator for Ukraine

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has criticized the European Union's approach to the Ukraine conflict, stating the bloc's stance has not been constructive because leaders are talking without taking action. However, Peskov noted that the appointment of a negotiator dedicated to a peaceful settlement would be a positive development.

Reports suggest Finnish President Alexander Stubb is a leading candidate to represent the EU in potential peace talks involving Moscow, Washington, and Kyiv. Stubb is considered a strong candidate due to Finland's proximity to Russia and his relationship with US President Donald Trump, despite his history as a staunch supporter of Ukraine.

Moscow has expressed readiness to restart trilateral talks with Washington and Kyiv. A potential meeting could occur in Abu Dhabi in mid-November following recent discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
