Kremlin spokesperson discusses arms control and Ukraine

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that arms control negotiations must continue, though he characterized the process as long, complex, and requiring detailed expert involvement. Responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s initiative for trilateral negotiations involving Russia, the United States, and China, Peskov noted that while Moscow understands Beijing’s position, there has been no known change in China's stance regarding its participation in such talks.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov asserted that Kyiv ‘will have to pay the price’ for its actions in recent months. He noted that Russian forces are continuing their military operations, targeting what they deem appropriate objectives. Peskov also emphasized that Russia must guarantee its own security to ensure no one is tempted to launch destructive strikes against the Russian Federation.
