Kremlin warns Russian citizens of risks traveling to Europe

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has warned that travel to European countries is currently dangerous for Russian citizens, particularly those subject to sanctions. He noted that while Russia views such sanctions as illegal under international law, violating them within the European Union constitutes a criminal offense.

This warning follows the detention of Mikhail Zvinchuk, founder of the media project ‘Ribar’, his wife Valeriya, and three associates in Risno, Montenegro. Montenegrin police, working with the National Security Agency and international partners, conducted a coordinated operation to suppress illegal activities. During the operation, authorities seized sophisticated digital equipment, including high-resolution devices, a drone, a GoPro camera, and multiple phones.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Zvinchuk and his team have been released and are at the airport awaiting flights to leave Montenegro.
