Kretek-Girijati road to begin traffic trial in Yogyakarta

The Kelok 23 Kretek-Girijati road, a 5-kilometer stretch connecting Bantul and Gunungkidul, will undergo a traffic trial from September 14 to September 20, 2026. This road is part of the Southern Cross Road (JJLS) development in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

During this trial period, certain restrictions will apply to ensure safety and allow for ongoing work on a 980-meter section. Only vehicles with a maximum of four wheels are permitted, and operational hours are limited to 06:00 through 18:00 WIB. Following the trial, authorities will evaluate the results to determine if the road is ready for permanent opening.
