Kretinga hosts Orange Republic pumpkin festival and environmental awards

The town of Kretinga hosted the ‘Orange Republic 2026’ harvest and pumpkin festival at the Town Hall Square. The event featured an autumn harvest fair, music, family entertainment, and a large pumpkin display.

A central part of the celebration was the awards ceremony for the annual ‘Beautify Our Environment’ competition. Organized by the Kretinga district municipality, the contest honors residents and businesses for maintaining beautiful yards, company grounds, and public spaces. This year, the farmstead of Laima and Egidijus Litvinas was recognized as the best-maintained property in the district, while an apartment building in Darbėnai was honored for its upkeep.

The festival's musical program included performances by the Kulupėnai branch vocal-instrumental ensemble, Adrijus, Radži, and the group ‘Dar’. The event concluded with the distribution of seeds from the festival's largest pumpkin to ensure the tradition continues in local gardens next spring.
